Casting the role of “mom” for a movie can be tough. Playing the role in real life is definitely harder. Not only that, the role of mother can sometime be a thankless job. On The Focus Group this week, Tim and John celebrate Mother’s Day by looking at a career that comes with no manual, no HR support, but lots of performance reviews. Joining in will be John’s Mom Carol, who has the unique distinction of knowing them as students from grade school on, having taught in their school. (We are hoping for some teacher’s lounge gossip!) We’ve gone to the archives for a show that was so good, it’s worth hearing a second time. While The Focus Group is off for the holiday, enjoy one of our favorite interviews with OutQ’s very own gay culture icon, Michelangelo Signorile. He answers our questions and prognosticates about gay life in the next decade. In the second hour, Paul Hagen from MetroSource Magazine will give us his spin on celebrity, trends, and the demise of the gay ghetto. Oh, and play along with John when he tackles one of Tim’s List.
Saturday, March 27th
Tim and John both know from their years of successfully advertising and marketing autos that the real relationship with your car starts after the purchase. Proper care and maintenance are key to fewer mechanical problems. And when things do go wrong, the dealership where you bought your car should be the first call. TJ Dolliver, National Parts and Service Marketing Manager at Volkswagen of America, joins the show to talk about the importance of the relationship with your dealer, as well as why the right parts matter when it comes to a repair or replacement. And while you may not drive a Volkswagen, his smart advice can benefit any driver.
On The Satellite Dish, the latest contestant eliminated and sent on their way from Season Two of RuPaul’s Drag Race stops by and checks in. Call 866-305-6887 to join the conversation.

Since it’s founding in 1986, The Imperial Court of New York has helped to raise and donate over $1 million dollars, and can best be described as community service with a flair. “Let us entertain you, let us make you smile…and while we’re at it, let us raise awareness and needed funds for the direct services organizations that our community relies on.” With the Court’s premiere event, Night of a Thousand Gowns fast approaching, Tim and John welcome the reigning monarchs Emperor XVIII Tony Monteleone, Empress XXIII Anne Tique, and Gary F. Cosgrove, President, Board of Directors, to the show. (John thinks it’s THE BEST charity event of the year.)
