Foregoing Christmas Gifts to Save the Planet
11.27.19 | A trend in the UK is finding more people foregoing giving things for Christmas and switching to baked goods and experiences instead. While we thought it was about commercialization, the reason these people site is the huge amount of waste that goes into the holiday such as paper, cardboard, and plastic. Then gender reveal parties gone wrong and Timex brings back the digital watch, and Deep Discount features “All About Eve” and “Now Voyager” from the Criterion Collection—two movies you need in your library.

Cute story, but we think the owner got out of the car without putting it in park and blamed the dog. But first, the census is coming and citizenship questions trump LGBT identification while Chik-Fil-A sends mixed messages about anti-LGBTQ donations.
Christmas decor debuts too soon for some in Texas town
11.20.19 | A neighborhood association in Texas sends a letter to a homeowner asking them to remove their Christmas yard decorations until closer to the season—the family decorated the yard November 1st. Too soon? Pen inventor Lewis Waterman is our Business Birthday and George Takei has a beef with a former Star Trek colleague. Don from Alabama calls in to sing the praises of Rocket City, aka Huntsville. Tim and John still plan a road trip someday to see the sites.

But first, LGBTQ acceptance across the globe grew in the usual places and decreased, or stayed static, in the usual suspects. The only bright spot was Nepal in terms of acceptance.
