Finally, a billionaire, Robert Hale Jr. spoke at a UMass commencement and gifted each graduate $1,000 cash on the spot with one caveat. They had to give $500 of it away to a person of need or worthy charity.

The world did not end, who’d have thought?

05.21.24 | Target has decided to still sell PRIDE merchandise in stores this June, but only to limited markets. Everything will be available online however as the brand tries to avoid last year’s issues. The 18,000 beds will be recycled and unlike the Tokyo Games, the French are not advocating a no-sex mandate. Finally, Dolly Parton has teamed up with Krispy Kreme for her own line of donuts! Then, an estranged gay son who had been shunned and disowned by his Jehovah’s Witness father writes his own version of his dad’s obit in Milford, CT. Finally, actor Gedde Watanabe says he did not find his role in 16 Candles as Long Duk Dong offensive at the time. It was 40 years ago, and Watanabe said there were not a lot of roles for Asian actors. He continued that the role changed his life in a positive way.

The retailer’s Mexican website improperly listed $14K earrings for $14. A man bought 2 pairs and Cartier protested. The Mexican Government Dept. of Consumer Affairs sided with the customer and made Cartier adhere to the price. Also, items from the Titanic recently sold at auction including a watch worn by John J.
