04.25.23 | $200K worth of dimes are stolen from a shipment of coins destined for Florida. The driver had left the US Mint in Philadelphia with $750K worth of dimes, parked to rest overnight, then thieves made off with the stash. So far, no charges have been filed. Then, a mother is asked to pick-up after her child makes a mess on the airplane. The husband tweeted his anger and did not receive the response he would have liked. Finally, after 25 years, Netflix is stopping its DVD by mail service.

04.19.23 | Shop Talk looks at the Dylan Mulvaney controversy surrounding Bud Light. Caught My Eye covers a new tourism campaign for the Capital of Saskatchewan. “Show us your Regina” was not received well and the campaign has been scratched. Also, a rock and mineral museum in Bethel, Maine is offering up to $25K for a piece of a meteorite that fell early this month. Ole Evinrude, inventor of the first commercially successful outboard motor, is our Business Birthday this week.

04.18.23 | A travel advisory for the State of Florida has been issued for LGBTQ people thinking of heading to the Sunshine State. #EqualityFlorida issued the warning in response to the many hateful anti-LGBTQ laws and policies that the state has enacted. Then, still in Florida, a teacher is fired for having his student write their own obits right before an active shooter drill. Finally, New York City has a new Rat Czar to help control the out-of-control rat population.

04.12.23 | Shop Talk looks at five ways to develop a growth goal mindset, that will help advance your career. Caught My Eye shares a story about Tom Hanks donating one of his vast collection of typewriters to a repair shop in the hope that it will find new life. 04.11.23 | Starbucks has a new drink that has got people running. It’s coffee with extra virgin olive oil, called an Oleato. (The coffee acts as a stimulant for your bowels while the olive oil is a relaxant.) Then, the Boston City Council is trying to outlaw small liquor bottles known as nips, minis, or shooters to combat alcoholism and litter. Finally, the famous white Saturday Night Fever suit worn by John Travolta goes on the auction block this month and is expected to fetch at least 200K.
